NATIONAL MIDDLE SCHOOL ASSOCIATION INITIAL LEVEL TEACHER PREPARATION STANDARDS

I found this draft document of Initial Level Teacher Preparation Standards on the NMSA website. The official standards will not come out until sometime in 2012-2013. I intend to introduce these in relevant courses that I teach. I would also like to create a crosswalk showing the relationship between these standards and the Maine Initial Teacher Certification Standards.

    Karen, glad you have had a chance to look at both the current standards and the newly proposed standards. The new standards are greatly simplified...but really focus on the key elements of teacher preparation at this level.

    I will be anxious to hear your crosswalk comparisons.
